Structures in Flux — page, object, and architectural structure. Developed from the structural principles first explored in the book object To Know a Fly, Structures in Flux examines connections between page, object, and architectural structure. Through folding, printing, binding, and construction, flat elements are translated into physical and spatial forms. In Flylines, printed and hand-bound book covers become independent pictorial objects. Opened at different angles, they extend from the wall and retain the structural qualities of the book: fold, surface, edge, and volume. Arranged as an open framework, the covers connect through images, shadows, and intervals. The empty spaces between them remain an active part of the work.
